Who is Eugene Christopher?

Born in Monroe, Louisiana to a family of musicians, Eugene started playing music at the age of 9. A legacy to follow, Eugene’s grandfather, Ray Wiles, was part of the Louisiana Ramblers in the 1940’s, playing with acts such as Elvis and B B King. Eugene’s father was also a working musician, well known in North East Louisiana, and still plays in a local country western band in Monroe. After college, Eugene moved to Los Angeles, CA where he recorded his first album, Thoughts of a TV Chair, under Solstar Records, produced by Bryan Holt. Eugene promoted the album on a West Coast tour, with just him and his guitar.

Thoughts of a TV Chair was chosen as a Top Ten album in Music Connection 2008 for New and Up and Coming artists to watch for. Eugene Christopher received international recognition as Daniel Moore, a singer/songwriter, on the reality TV show, The Industry. After Los Angeles, CA, Eugene moved to Austin, TX and was signed by 9 Lives Records, out of Kentucky. Eugene recorded his second album, Based on Live Performances, at Sally’s Place in Austin, TX, produced by John Neiss. Based on Live Performances, features semi-live renditions of several songs from his first album along with a few new songs, as Eugene matures and comes into his own.

Based on Live Performances was chosen as the soundtrack for the short film “Vicky and Sam”, which is now circuiting international film festivals. Eugene also played an acting role in this film, as well as other feature films due to come out in 2011. Eugene Christopher currently lives in Austin, TX and tours nationally 200 days a year.
